Bunnies taking toll on cars at Denver airport
DENVER (AP) - Silly rabbits.
The furry creatures are wreaking havoc on cars parked at Denver International Airport by eating spark plug cables and other wiring.
To stop the problem, federal wildlife workers are removing at least 100 bunnies a month while parking companies install better fences and build perches for predator hawks and eagles.
KCNC-TV reported Thursday there's another way to stop the damage that can cost thousands of dollars to repair.
Mechanics say coating the wires with fox or coyote urine can rob the rabbits of their appetite. Fox urine can be purchased at many hunting shops.

as an added benfit, the aroma fills the air when the engine warms. Didnt Ted Nugent write a song called Hot Fox Urine?
Sprinkling cayenne pepper around in the engine compartment also helps. That was the only thing that stopped the pack rats from chopping down on my RV's wiring.
This was reported on more than two years ago and is certainly not news now. I've heard they like the soy compound found in newer car wiring. I've had rats do the same thing to a car parked less than a week in some parts of the state.

hmm no different then a friend having a "Pack Rat in the car..only the Prius has something like of 30 KV charged rails..which is enough to kill you, also, it can power a home.
Also fun fact of the day, 2 locomotives can run Fred Meyers for 3 days off fuel. While working for the rail Road as a shuttle driver, I learned that the engines can be used for emergence power and have all the hook ups needed to use them as such. Also something about a CP or something being used to power a hospital during a blizzard...I'll leave t hat up to you to search though.
