Dog surives 11-mile ride stuck in car grille
EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A dog who survived an 11-mile ride from Massachusetts to Rhode Island after being hit by a car and wedged into the grille has been reunited with its owners.
The owners, who weren't identified, told WPRI-TV it's a "miracle."
East Providence Animal Control supervisor William Muggle said the owners claimed "Suzie" on Tuesday after seeing news reports. Animal control tells The Providence Journal they had veterinary paperwork with the dog's microchip number.
Muggle said the female poodle mix ran in front of a car in Taunton, Mass., Sept. 20. The driver slammed on the brakes but didn't see the dog.
Muggle said another motorist noticed it when the driver reached East Providence. Animal control officers were able to free the fluffy white pooch, which suffered a concussion and minor injuries.

Ohmygoodness! The poor little thing!  I hope that this really was just an accident and that the concussion doesn't cause serious long-term problems.
Ok so let me get this straight.
Â
A person was driving her car and struck an animal. But when they got out of her car to look for what/who they had struck they "didn't see the dog".
Â
Ok I know that these dogs are small, but the dog must have been visible because another motorist saw the dog and pointed it out to the driver.
Â
In essence they hit an animal, then did a quick look and moved on.
Â
Obviously they didn't look real well as another motorist saw it in the FRONT of her car. They could have been dragging an animal; they could have had significant car damage to make it unsafe. But they didn't spend enough time to bother to check thoroughly enough to even see a living creature jammed in the grill.
Â
If I lived near these people, her lack of observational skills would worry me shoring the road with them.Â

Ah, a little dog on the grille....reminds me of the family bar-b-ques back home.......

(Pssst - It's humor folks......)
@phastphx   grill baby, grill.
 The Car-B-Que?
I remember Underdog but never Undercarriage dog.....
Those dam remakes are never as good as the original.
Do you think his auto insurance will pay for the vet's bill?
@WendyTeagarden Why should his auto insurance pay for anything. The dog was not on a leash, so the dog owner is 100% at fault for what happened, and if I were the owner of the vehicle I would be suing the dog owner for the damage to the vehicle and if it goes to court the driver will win. Â
Thank God!
