Trained boxer turns out to be bad target for mugger
SEATTLE -- An unarmed man tried to mug a trained boxer last Wednesday outside a Capitol Hill boxing gym, according to the Seattle Police Department. It didn't go well for the alleged mugger.
According to the police report for the incident, the victim was about to enter Seattle Boxing Studio around 10:30 a.m. when the suspect grabbed his gym bag and refused to let go.
After a struggle over the bag, the suspect let go in order to lunge at the victim, according to the report. So, the victim punched the suspect in the mouth, knocking him to the ground.
The suspect got back up and started throwing punches at the victim, who was able to avoid every one of them, according to the report.
Eventually the suspect gave up and walked away. At this point the suspect made his second mistake of the morning (the first being to attack a boxer, obviously).
The suspect headed directly toward the nearby Seattle Police Department East Precinct, so the victim and a Seattle Boxing Studio instructor were able to follow him and point him out to an officer sitting in a patrol car outside the precinct.
The officer caught up with the suspect in the 1200 block of East Olive Street and arrested him.
The victim suffered a possibly broken hand when he punched the suspect in the face.
I always love these stories where the criminal gets what he/she deserves. Kudos to the victim.Â
1 dumb and big kid being taught an important lesson by a restrained combat vet. 1:29 is the fun part... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxMDFWUjBrk
How perfectly divine. Sorry about the possible injury, but at least this idiot got smacked down for his stupidity.Â
You mean instead of carrying concealed, there's the option of not being a pussy?
@Joe M If you have nothing to say, then slander away...

 @Joe M Wouldn't work for a woman. A firearm is a great equalizer against someone bigger, stronger and perhaps loaded or high.

"Wouldn't work for a woman."
Â
Would you like to put money on that? Â Meet Ronda Rousey.

Do you think a MAN could protect himself from 3 or 4 large guys whose goal was to rape him? Probably not..
BTW, I mentioned the case above because it was a local case involving a Portland nurse with no self-defense or fight training of any kind.. I didn't bother to check "all of the internet," which would likely show other examples too.

 @Diogenes  @0zee  @Joe M Wow, you guys found one woman, in all of the internet.
Â
Just wondering, if it was your wife or your sister or your daughter, do you think she could protect herself from 3 or 4 large guys whose goal was to rape her?
How about your Mom? Still think your argument showing one or two women who could, is still effective????
 @Diogenes  @0zee  @Owt_Raged  @Joe M Â
Women are most certainly capable of beating up male attackers. Anybody remember the nurse whose estranged husband hired a guy to kill her? He broke into her house and attacked her with a hammer, and she promptly choked him to death: http://www.nbcnews.com/id/14859827/
 @0zee  @Owt_Raged  @Joe MÂ
You are correct, sir. Â Not everyone can fight like that. Â In fact, almost no men are "trained boxer[s]." Â But Owt_Raged said a woman couldn't beat up a would-be mugger; I submit that there are a growing number of women who don't need a big strong man to save them. Â The implicit sexism in his claim was easily refuted. Â Ronda Rousey is a woman who can rip off any mugger's arm and beat him/her to death with it.Â
 @Diogenes  @Owt_Raged  @Joe M Not every woman (or man, for that matter) is Ronda Rousey though.Â
 @Joe M Sure I guess if you happened to be born a 6' 5" gorilla that seems to be the average these days.  I guess I could just punch straight for the crotch... *shrugs*

There's a reason Samuel Colt called his invention "The Equalizer".

Part of this clown's sentence should be "round two".
 @Siwash "No Mas."
No coverage of the school coach who used a gun to stop an attacker this month, though. Some dude got beat up. BIG NEWS!!
 @Playanekes Link?

Cop - "How many fingers am I holding up?"

Perp - "Thursday."
@Kushfan hahahaha
 @cantcurestupid  That's one of the many great lines from the TV show 'Police Squad'.
Still waiting for someone to start in on the dog comments after seeing the title and not reading the story:)
@FreedomRocks I thought it was going to be about a dog too, :P
Â
Boxer asisted suicide.
Never bring a fist to a fist fight if you don't know how to box.
LOL! Â Epic fail.
Hilarious!
I'm chuckling at the STUPID guy who thought he could mug a man outside of a gym...a boxing gym, for that matter. Ah! Justice!
Rule #1 Don't try to mug someone outside of a boxing club.
 @Pointblank I thought rule #1 was "Do not talk about fight club!"
