SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - When a Spokane drugstore clerk confronted a suspected shoplifter early Friday, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened her.
Police say the Walgreens clerk punched the man in the face and knocked him down. He dropped the knife. She picked it up, and he ran off.
Police found a suspect in the area wearing a black stocking cap with tassels that had been shoplifted.
The 25-year-old was identified by the clerk and jailed for investigation of robbery.

Too funny ... suffering a major beat-down from a woman. Way to go girl! Next time make it so he can't run!
Rearrange my inventory and I will rearrange your face.
I want to arm wrestle the Walgreen's clerk.
 @Kushfan careful what you ask for....I could be Bernice from Southbeach Tow
Ok... this guy deserves to have his mug shot splashed out to the public.
HAHAHA! Â Awesome! Â Nice work miss clerk.
Uh.......better caller her Ms. clerk.
The dude is just too incompetent to be a thief. He should get a job. Of course, that will be difficult after doing time. You also don't learn any job skills in the joint. Just another sap on his way to the bottom.
Dummy didn't have his Balance Rewards (R) card, and things went downhill from there!
great job.....liberals dont like things like this.
Yeah but OFFBEAT loves it.
 @sortbait Conservatives hate this, the perp wasn't shot..
@sortbait Don't like it how? I find it quite amusing.
Dummy brought a knife to a fist fight.
Left, right, uppercut......awesome!
I just hope this woman doesn't end up losing her job for violating some stupid rule about physical confrontations with shoplifters. Frankly, store employees should be allowed discretion in dealing with people like this. Cooperate with robbers if necessary, but kick their azz if you feel up to it.Â
I like it!!!
daaayyyyuuuummm!!
Way to go girl. You are the ma.....woman.
Â
This is not going to go well for the perp in jail. He will be on the low end of the totem pole once they find out a woman kicked his but(t).
Â
Yeah but think of all the new friends he'll have.
 @KushfanÂ
For sure.
Â
o  <------this is his you know what before prison.
O <------this is you know what after prison.
 @RalphCramden  @WendyTeagarden Don't delete truth brother.
 @WendyTeagardenÂ
Yea, I should probably delete that, huh.
@RalphCramden    TMI
Thats how you do it...
Nice! Don't ever underestimate a woman.
that must be one burly broad
 @LostSoul ~  Ummm...not necessarily... my dad used to tell the story about his grandmother, who was a little tiny woman, about 4' 10" and about 85 lbs soaking wet.   Back during the Great Depression, they lived in Kansas City, MO; there were always men riding the rails, and often, they would look for work (or handouts) from homes near the train tracks.  Â
One day, a hobo came to the back door of the house where my dad lived with his mom, grandma, and his 2 brothers; the men first asked for work, but when told that there wasn't any, he demanded food (didn't ask nicely; apparently got very rude). Â When he got really belligerent, Grandma grabbed his arm, twisted it around behind his back, turned him around,. then "walked" him to the back fence of their yard, which backed up on a hill... then she proceeded to grab his jacket collar and and the back of his pants and literally, threw him over the fence (wasn't very high), and down the hill. Â Â
It helped that the guy was somewhat drunk at the time, but still... Â Grandma might ave been small, but she was as tough as nails..! Â Â
I would have loved to see that. Pics? Video?
Probably on PPV.
Now that's just awesome! Kudos to the store clerk! Thankfully no one was hurt and this certainly could've turned out so badly, but I always enjoy reading these types of articles when the criminal gets put into his/her place. I'm sure he'll tell a different story as to why he was arrested while he sits in jail.
Good job!
