Vivian G. Duda (Eder)
(September 22, 1934 - October 22, 2010)
GERVAIS, Ore. - Vivian was first and foremost a wife and mother. Her greatest joy was taking care of others. Vivian's dedication to her family and faith was demonstrated in every aspect of her life. She was the book keeper for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School for over 40 years, all as a volunteer.
She also worked at Sacred Heart Catholic School for many years as first the Librarian and then as Secretary. Vivian was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Her many offices held included National Director. CDA was an important part of Vivian's life. Vivian's last gift was to donate her brain to OHSU. She stated many times that she wanted to help others not go through the disease of Alzheimer's.
Vivian is survived by husband, Ralph Duda; four children, Christine (Greg) Frank, Greg (Becky) Duda, Ed (Leah) Duda, Irene Duda; four grandchildren, John & Robert Frank, Kathryn & Courtney Duda; brother, Andrew (Jeanette) Eder; and sisters, Alita (Clarence) Tschantz, Margaret (Tom) Konold.
The Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 605 7th St, Gervais. Internment and reception to follow immediately after Mass.
