FLORENCE, Ore. -- Did the poor economy keep vistors away from the Oregon coast?  Or did the "staycation" trend actually drive tourists to the town?

The answer depends on who you ask.

According to Kady Sneddon, director of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, the summer of 2009 is all over the board.

Sneddon says some of the Chamber's members reported business was up, others saw the same amount and others saw business slow down.

In general, restaurants and bars fared better than gift shops, said Sneddon.  Attractions, like Sea Lion Caves and dune buggy tours also did well.

Did you take a staycation? If so, where?
