NEHALEM BAY, Ore. - For horse lovers who want to spend a little time on the Oregon coast, the horse camp at Nehalem Bay State Park is certainly a good pick.

The state park is located near the towns of Manzanita and Nehalem Bay. You'll find the horse camp just outside the paved camping loops for tents and RVs.

On Saturday, I caught up with the Forest Grove Ranch Riders out of Forest Grove, Oregon. They had just arrived at the coast and had booked several spots. And they couldn't have picked a better weekend to plan a get together - nothing but sunshine and blue sky.

The horse camp is primitive but has everything a rider needs to enjoy a weekend on the coast - campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, horse corrals and easy beach access.
