GRESHAM, Ore. - Whether you're looking for an after-work fishing hole or a place to take the kids on a nice fall day, you might consider heading on over to Mt. Hood Community College.

Located right on the college's Gresham campus is a small fish pond that is open to the public. Trout are the main fare, although bass are rumored to be in the water as well.

According to Todd Hanna, Fisheries Instructor for Mt. Hood Community College, the pond gets fished pretty regularly.

And it's no wonder, considering that the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks it with trout (usually from February through October) and college students will stock it from time to time as well.

Although most of the trout are the typical size you get with stocked fish, Hanna said there are a few big ones.  The Fisheries program tags some of the fish for tracking and he said some of those trout have been in the pond for about a year.
