COOS BAY, Ore. -Some salmon fisherman will have to reel in their poles after Friday, September 18, when the Coos Basin closes for Wild Coho Salmon.

Coos Bay, Coos River and South Coos River and the Millicoma River have reached their quota of 1,000 Wild Coho. That means anglers will not be able to bag any more but they are still able to keep hatchery or adipose fin-clipped Coho or Wild and Hatchery Chinook Salmon in the Coos Basin.

In addition, the Coquille River remains open for Wild and Hatchery Coho and Chinook Salmon.
