FRAZIER PARK, Calif. - The body of a 15-year-old boy who fell 1,900 feet from a cliff on the San Emigdio Mountains was recovered Tuesday afternoon.

Kern County Fire spokesman Sean Collins says Michael Manning of Pine Mountain Club was with a handful of other teens when the accident happened Monday night.

Firefighters from Station 58 in Pine Mountain Club were the first to arrive on scene, and a paramedic from that station was able to climb down the mountain in an effort to provide medical aid.

Two helicopters were dispatched to the scene, but Manning's body couldn't be recovered until Tuesday because of rough terrain and nightfall.

Manning was a student at Frazier Mountain High School in Lebec. A memorial was set up for Manning at the high school on Tuesday.
