Wild horses to go up for auction in Junction City
By KVAL NewsEUGENE, Ore. -- Wild horses from southern Oregon will be up for adoption June 6 in Junction City, Ore. The Bureau of Land Management plans to bring around 20 young horses to the silent auction. BLM rounds up and adopts the animals to control the wild horse population. "We have a lot of wild horses in the holding facilities and they need to get adopted," said Chrissy Edwards with the Bureau of Land Management, "otherwise they just stay in a corral for a long time and don't have anything done with them. This would really help them get a life again." If you are interested, you can check out the horses on Friday, June 5, at the High Prairie Arena in Junction City between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Adoptions will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. Fees start at $125. | More information |
