their still ripping the people off and charging lots of money for a plant that grows for free. But its better than having it illegal
When defending their dangerous and counter-productive war on (some) drugs, prohibitionists like Pat Slack often cite "our obligation to the children", But prohibition has made all of these 'at present illegal' substances available in schools, and even prisons. So how has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has also raised gang warfare to a level not seen since the days of alcohol bootlegginÂg in the United States. How has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has creating a prison-forÂ-profit synergy with evil drug lords and terrorists. How has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has removed many of our cherished and important civil liberties. How has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has put many previously unknown and contaminateÂd drugs on our streets. How has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has escalating Murder, Theft, Muggings, and BurglariesÂ. How has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has overcrowdÂing the courts and prisons, thus making it increasingÂly impossible to curtail the people who are really hurting and terrorizing others. How has that helped our kids?
Â
Prohibition has evolved local street gangs into transnatioÂnal enterpriseÂs with intricate power structures that reach into every corner of society, and with significant social and military resources at their disposal. How has that helped our kids?
Â
âThe State must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.â â Adolf Hitler, âMein Kampfâ

Don't wait for a complete meltdown: Vote to Acquit!
Â
@Malcolm Kyle - Excellent post.
Pat Slack is a very opinionated person. He has honestly no backup on a good number of the statements that he brought up. Also, he states false and non backed up "evidence" that marijuana has an impact on frontal lobe development. New studies say it could actually stimulate decision making. We have been in a war on drugs for years now. This guy is very stuck up, and only brings op the youth. This guy needs to freshen up on his points, cause the only guys that are on his side are people who believe everything other people and media say.Â
Â
Sad to say. But cause of people like Pat, Marijuana has become such a big issue today. We should have been legalized and seeing the benefits from legalization years ago. Come on people, vote 502.Â
@RyanH12 Why would I vote for a law that trades possession arrests for DUID arrests?  Why would I vote for a law that prioritizes arrests on our youth?  Why would I vote for a law that puts medical patients in danger of getting a DUID when they aren't impaired?  Why would I vote for a law that will raise the price above what even the black market charges?  Why would I vote for a law that allows the feds to dictate our policies instead of our own state?  Why would I vote for a "legalization" bill that restricts people from planting a seed?  Why would I vote for a law that the state says will resort in an increase of arrests?  Why would I vote for a law that does nothing to remove drugs from our schools?  VOTE NO AND PUT PRESSURE ON OUR LEGISLATORS TO PASS A REAL LEGALIZATION BILL!Â
Â
@John Novak  @RyanH12 Because it doesn't make that possession for DUID trade at all and you are only parroting the lies being told by the medical marijuana profiteers.  Your next lie is about raising prices - not true - I'm not raising my prices and will likely have to drop them to compete.  Then you lie about the feds - it doesn't do that at all...  Basically everything you say is a lie - you are a medical marijuana dealer!
Why would you vote for a law that allows others to make their own choice instead of yours.
The way i see it, Mr. Pat Slack used more propaganda in his arguments. There is No proof that people under their 20s have reduced development of the frontal lobe. The Guy From The FBI spoke with common sense and made a much better argument. Yes on 502.Â
It doesn't mention that the DUI standard of 5ng/ml is UNSCIENTIFIC & BOGUS. That limit makes ALL MEDICAL PATIENTS & DAILY USERS now Driving While Stoned. NOT GOOD!!!!!
@furrykiltman Yeah, let's use police profiling and scare tactics to discourage support of legalization. It's bogus, really, as long as all your lights are working, you follow the rules of the road and you don't reek of weed, what's the problem? People can't find glass jars to stop odor? Is there a shortage of Visine I'm unaware of? Oh, wait, it must be a patient registry and bumper stickers for police to identify us on the road? No. Not at all, you're using a fear based argument. I'm not falling for it and neither are other smart patients. I'm a former cop, a current patient . . . and I'm voting YES on 502.
instead of making a law for an entire state and all of its population.
Â
why not make one county or a city where it is legal, those that want to live that lifestyle can.. and those that want to recreate can visit or holiday.
@Rey Arteb  Individual freedom should not have borders.
Both men presented their views very well and I was very impressed. Â
Though I do have to go with the FBI guy. Â It is harder for minors to get alcohol than it is to get pot because of the regulations. Â
He is correct, people will go through the approved channels even though it costs more.  You can distill your own liquor and grow your own tobacco but you don't see a ton of people going though the trouble of growing/making their own. Â
I will vote yesÂ
I'm looking forward to marijuana legalization. Yes on I-502!
 @DarlaÂ
502 is not marijuana legalization. It is RESTRICTIVE MARIJUANA & creates a MONOPOLY. People will not be allowed to grow, share or enjoy in public. It is back into our closets. I came out of the closet 30 years ago & will not go back for anyone.
CCPA 514 is legalization www.cannabischildprotectionact.org
@furrykiltman  @Darla I don't really care for your hippy dippy, free for all, unregulated definition of legalization, and neither do other responsible voters/tokers/patients. Patients will continue to have the right to grow. It's illegal to enjoy it in public NOW, so don't try to distract me from supporting this with misleading comments about current law. (Also, passing a joint to a friend or patient could be considered "delivery" under current law and you could get arrested for that, now.) Not all of the state is like Seattle and other urban areas where patients have access to dispensaries and cannabis is a low priority for law enforcement. What I want to see is fewer patients in my area going to jail for simple possession.  What I want to see is a regulated market where ALL adults who live in my rural location can access marijuana. What I want to see is sober drivers, regardless of patient status or frequency of use. All of those things mean legalization to me, and that's what 502 is offering. I encourage other voters and patients to support 502. It's the right thing to do.
hmm and here, I thought it was windows 8 bugging out with regards to there not being any audio.
Â
While I am against the abuse of this plant, I am well aware of the qualities it has. One can make clothing, strong ropes, and it can be used for treating cancer.Â
Â
The clothing part can be really nice and it could be made to help in making some really nice garments.
And there is the medical side of this drug. It can indeed be used to treat cancers and glaucoma.
it is one of the few drugs that can not be synthesized.
Â
Please understand , pot is a plant, it in it self is neither evil nor good, it is how you use it or abuse that makes it evil or good.Â
@lee986321Â Â A $40 billion a year hemp industry providing 50,000 consumer products lies dormant due to government intervention. That is the evil.
Just what we dont need...pot heads eating all the chips in the stores.
We have too many pot addicts around already.
@sortbait Pot is non-addictive.
@sortbait we also dont need uninformed armchair (wannabee) comedians.
Im sick of your generalizations. Grow up, read a book and critically think about your hollow worthless statement.
no sound
Â
@Rey Arteb We are working to get the audio functioning. - KATU.com
@BillatKATU sounds working... i watched part of it without sound.. and i thought the guy with the tie was the opposed, and the guy with the red eyes was high.
Â
