Herrera Beutler advances in Wash. 3rd District primary

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler has advanced through the 3rd District Congressional primary and will appear on the November ballot.

Herrera Beutler advances along with Democrat Bob Dingethal, who was leading other contenders for second place in Tuesday's primary. Herrera Beutler was first elected to the district in 2010.

Washington's 3rd Congressional District spans southwest Washington from just north of Centralia south to the Columbia River, including the city of Vancouver, and includes and includes all or parts of Thurston, Lewis, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counties.
