Idaho pols fight against tide of legal marijuana
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Idaho legislators are pushing back against measures in Western states where voters recently relaxed marijuana laws.
The Senate's State Affairs Committee voted unanimously Friday to introduce a resolution opposing marijuana use in any form.
The resolution also urges President Barack Obama and the Justice Department to enforce existing federal marijuana laws.
Republican Sen. Chuck Winder of Boise said the statement is a response to the growing acceptance of marijuana use in neighboring states.
Winder said law enforcement along Idaho's western border are dealing with an influx of drug trafficking after Washington voters approved of recreational use and the medical use of marijuana in Oregon and Montana.
Winder said he hopes the federal government takes steps to oppose Washington's law and help states battle illegal trafficking of the drug.

Go Idaho!! I am a lifelong Democrat but disagree on the false and ridiculous claims being made about so called medical marijuana (marijuana does not and will never cure any form of hepatitis for example). And as you can see from what is happening in CO legal marijuana is just a very bad idea. The smoking of anything is going to produce lung disease and the environment, the school system, and society do not need the problems that will arise from the wrong message that "legal" marijuana would send. Legal marijuana is about money and more greed for it--the shops selling it are not concerned about the health issues it would cause, the psychological problems that will develop, and the extra money in taxes needed to deal with a lot of extra people getting stoned and driving high. The people I know who depend on weed are unhealthy and unmotivated and lack the ability to become more than being obsessed with everything weed.
Read the facts! This is curing me and many others, sorry you nazi's but I was giving hep c at age 10 due to bad blood transfusion and have end stage liver disease yet five years after they said I wasn't coming out of the hospital, the only med I use is cannabis and my health and labs are doing great.... Â Open your eyes!
I have the best idea ever. Washington and Idaho ought to spend their ENTIRE political and law enforcement budgets figuring out how the police so effectively manage to prevent fireworks from coming to Oregon, and how Washington prevents Everclear--illegal in Washington, can you believe it?--from being transported over from Oregon.Those ways work perfect. Do those EXACT and highly-effective methods.
Go Idaho.  Stick to your guns.  Tell the potheads  to move to Washington where it, along with Oregon are in a dead heat to tie California as the most screwed up state in the country.  This will make Idaho a much better place for decent people to live.  Â

I figured they're support it, since a huge portion of the state relies on McDonald's potato farms. Fast food and weed always goes hand in hand.
Do you really believe that Idaho has Aryan Nation ideals??? That's like saying all of Oregon has Emo Ideals. Get out of the city and do a little traveling. Boise is one of the fastest growing cities in the US because of business a friendly environment and a great downtown area which includes the Boise State Campus. But I guess if they don't act just like you they're probably racists huh!
