Immigrant tuition bill clears Ore. Senate panel
SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A state Senate committee voted to allow young illegal immigrants to pay in-state tuition at Oregon universities if they were brought to the U.S. as children.
The Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee approved the measure on a 3-2 party-line vote on Tuesday, setting the stage for a vote in the full Senate later this week.
The bill is likely to pass the Democrat-controlled Senate. It was already approved in the House, and Gov. John Kitzhaber says he'll sign it.
Illegal immigrants who graduate from Oregon high schools and meet university entrance requirements would be eligible for lower tuition rates paid by Oregon residents.

I just went over to Oregonlive and found a story about a 22 year old illegal (young by some standards)that is a known drug trafficer and was deported. He is back and has been arrested again for ....guess what drug trafficing.
This guy and ALL illegals should be deported.

Big, big, BIG mistake. An issue this important needs to be put on the ballot for the LEGAL RESIDENTS of Oregon to decide, since the politicians seem to have a difficult time understanding that illegal means illegal, and are incapable of making a rational decision.

And blatantly representing (without apology) thier own special interests, instead of the clearly expressed will of the legal residents of Oregon who will be paying the bills. They should answer for it when it comes time to vote for them the next time for sure. Vote...and encourage everyone you know to vote these pathetic morons out.

Of course it passes, it's another "feel good" measure. Don't forget to give them voter registration cards along with it, not that it matters here.
Ther isn't enough funds to pay for hard working americans educations. Yet someone has decided to give "illegals" a break. How about hard working oregonians who make a bit to much yet don't qualify for finanicial aid even though they scrape by just to feed their families.
