SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Monica Wehby is getting a new campaign manager to lead her effort to unseat Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley.

Wehby Campaign Manager Charlie Pearce said Friday that he's moving over to run Republican Dennis Richardson's campaign for governor.

Wehby's new campaign manager, Michael Antonopoulos, was previously the manager of Matt Whitaker's run for the GOP Senate nomination in Iowa. Whitaker finished fourth in a field of five candidates.

Before the Iowa race, Antonopoulos worked in GOP politics in California.

Wehby has stayed largely out of the public eye since the revelation a month ago that an ex-husband and former boyfriend both called police on her.

Richardson also hired Jordan Conger to be his field director. Conger managed his father Jason Conger's unsuccessful bid for the GOP Senate nomination.
