Since fluoride that is added to water is an environmental toxin, toxic substance, hazardous substance, contaminant, pollutant, poison- all synonymous terms, it is regulated by the EPA. If it were a nutrient, vitamin or supplement or medicine, then it would be regulated by the FDA. If it were a nutrient, vitamin or supplement, it would have RDAs. According to EPA standards, fluoride exposure dose must be calculated on every person who consumes it, as a safeguard to determine safety and avoid toxicity.
Great job, Kylie !! No public health measure has been studied than water fluoridation. Fluoridation is safe, effective, inexpensive, and most of all, socially equitable. 204 million Americans are enjoying the public health benefit of water fluoridation. Soon, over 900,000 more Oregonians will also will benefit from fluoridation.
 @Tooth Truth Is that so? safe, effective, inexpensive, what? what possible benefit are you talking about ? Because there isnt one single thing that is benefitial to my dental health from drinking flouridated water . There is no  baseline  because people are chemically diffefent so too much flouride becomes toxic and for  people to determine what is too much, depends on who you are, how you absorb flouride and what other minerals and chemicals are in you. So if our toothpaste is flouridated why on earth is our CITY now so concerned with Dental Health, MINE and YOURS specifically that rising the Health of its residents is an acceptable liabilty because we have to have good healthy teeth. ER ? The Dental Health Professionals, ADA  and scientists that are backing flouride - are given facts by scientists that promote the flouride use in our products and via water flouridation. Unfortunatly because a Dentist says " Go Team Flouride "  that doesn't mean they are informed. or have the ability to SCIENTIFICALLY make that recomendation. They are making recommendations based on Science that is padded, or facts omitted about the ENTIRE Situation, History and Hazards. They are going off what they believe to be true. The first Scientist to recommend flouride was bought and paid for from the Alcoa Aluminum Co- Flouride increases the bodies ability to absorb aluminum- by 600 % So Effective and Inexpensive what? What is it that needs to be done here ?. Thats enough for me, NO NO NOÂ

URGENT! ⦠Know that the AWWA [American Water Works Association] has reported in one of their âWater Conservation pamphletsâ that âLess than 1% of utilities treated water is ever consumed [e.g. swallowed] by human beings.â The rest goes to landscape watering, washing uses, and down drains. So, think of this analogy to the AWWA statementâ¦Would anyone purchase a bottle of 100 EXPENSIVE âmedicantâ pills, take just one and throw the rest away into our habitats only to pollute our environments? Of course NOT!
Swallowing Silicofluoride, an EPA 'regulated pollutant' designated by State of Oregon as a 'hazardous waste' is NOT authorized BY LAW for source water treatment by an illicit fluoridation law, and would be a CRIME to force onto any human being.

Education to prevent baby bottle tooth decay (bbtd) .. needed !
âbbtdâ in toddlers is attributed to overuse and improper use of a baby bottle for feeding (e.g. leaving a baby bottle in babyâs mouth over-night, etc.)
Pediatric physicians, family doctors, school health nurses, head-start program directors, dental clinics need to educate & warn, soon to be parents, about âbbtdâ and prevention.
Data from the California Oral Health Needs Assessment â93-â94 shows an equally high incidence of âbbtdâ in head start children living in both fluoridated and non- fluoridated regions.
Early tooth care education by Parents to Children is the main answer to preventing early childhood caries !
Parents should get updated Dental Care EDUCATION at:
the Hospital during PreNatal Training Classes. at each appointment they might have with a Dentist. at annual PTA meeting headlining a special emphasis on Childrens' Dental Care.Â

 @CleanSafeH2O No it doesnt - what it does is reduce childrens test scores and IQ signifigantly and several accredited studies can be easily found online to research - The Hazardous point for consumption is so shady that why would we risk this ? what are they ... THEY .... whoever THEY are, why the heck is this so important  to get into our food supplyÂ

When a dentist peers into a decay free mouth, it is more indicative of socio-economic-status, rather than fluoride use. 80% of dentists refuse to see Medicaid patients so they won't see those with the worst teeth who DO live in fluoridated communities and use fluoridated toothpaste.  Wealthier people can afford dentistry. Lower income people have to wait until their cavity grows, festers and spreads until the pain is so severe that they are accepted in hospital ER's at taxpayers' expense Every fluoridated city has seen an influx of ER dental patients who must either accept having teeth pulled or get pain meds that don't ever solve the problem until they are back in the ER to get more teeth pulled out. @kamellia73
There are negatives concerning floride in our water. It can possilby weaken bones, it may affect allergies and protein digestion. It can cause stomach pain and indigestion. Floride may also damage joints and connective tissue. With that being said, why subject everyone to floride in our water. If parents want their children to have floride, use floride drops. Everyone should have the right to make their own call on floride. Keep it out of the water and make it an individual call.
