Voters to decide arts funding, school bond, library dist.

During Tuesday’s election, voters will decide tax measures that involve the Multnomah County Library, Portland Public Schools and arts and music in Portland schools.

PORTLAND, Ore. – During Tuesday’s election, voters will decide tax measures that involve the Multnomah County Library, Portland Public Schools and arts and music in Portland schools.

Measure 26-144 is the $482 million Portland Public Schools bond. If approved by voters, money will help repair, upgrade and replace schools.

Measure 26-146 aims to restore arts and music in the six school districts in Portland by hiring arts and music teachers through a $35 per year income tax.

Measure 26-143 will create a permanent Multnomah County Library District that would be funded by assessed property values up to $1.24 per $1,000.
