Poll: Mult. County residents weigh in on the Jeff Cogen scandal

PORTLAND, Ore. – Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen isn't getting much support from the public, according to an exclusive poll conducted for KATU News.

The poll, conducted by SurveyUSA, asked 700 residents of Multnomah County a series of questions about the man's scandalous affair that has topped the headlines this past week. And the numbers don't favor Cogen much.

When asked whether they think Cogen should resign, 54 percent said 'yes.' And 76 percent of respondents said they felt while what Cogen did was not illegal, it was unethical. However, only 22 percent said they felt this would end his career. Most folks thought it would just hurt it.

View the entire poll results, including breakdowns by age, race, political ideology and education level.
