March 24-29, 2014 is National Agriculture Week, a time to salute the more than two million US agricultural operators and 35,000 family farms in Oregon. And, we’re making it easy for you to celebrate Oregon agriculture with your family this year!
Everyday during National Agriculture Week we’ll be serving up a bite sized 1-minute video, along with fun facts and a daily recipe featuring Oregon fruits & vegetables, hazelnuts, dairy, seafood or beef.
Oregon’s climate and soils create unique growing conditions where our farmers grow some of the best flavors and colors on the planet. Oregon farmers, fishers and ranchers supply food and fiber that is known worldwide for its quality and variety. Oregon grown and processed products are served everywhere, from your favorite local food carts, to school cafeterias across the U.S., to international markets. Wool from Oregon sheep was even used to make the uniforms worn by the US Olympic team in Sochi. How cool is that?
There is a lot to learn and appreciate about Oregon agriculture. Please join us during National Agriculture Week to celebrate the abundance provided by Oregon’s producers and the positive impact they have on our daily lives. Mark your calendars for March 24 -29!
