33rd Annual Washington State International Kite Festival

The third full week of August in Long Beach is home to the annual gathering of thousands of kites from around the world. Tens of thousands of spectators are drawn out every year to watch the choreographed movement and incredible color that takes over one of the most incredible beaches in the country. Enjoy the stunning ocean atmosphere while soaking in the sun under a beautiful sky full of kites of every size and shape!
The week leading up to the festival will be full of camera workshops, kids camps, kite battles, and kite making classes. The real excitement begins on Friday with sport kite events, a lighted kite night fly, and fireworks to close off the evening. Saturday and Sunday will feature the FNAFKA Fighter Kite Line Touch World Cup as well as tons of competitions and exhibitions. Mass ascensions every day will will the sky with hundreds of kites from around the world.
There will even be several attempts to secure the World Record for coordinated quad line team flying!
