EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon Ducks will be the first football team to take the field this season in Nike's new Pro Combat system.

Oregon football started working with designers at Nike in 1996.

The uniforms the team is expected to wear in the season opener against LSU on Sept. 3 in Dallas Cowboys Stadium feature black wing graphics on black uniforms with glowing fluorescent logos and numbers.

Oregon debuted the Pro Combat system at the BCS National Championship game in January.

Nike designers said the uniforms eliminate bulk in the pads and remain light but tough thanks to carbon fiber plating.
