Ducks move up in AP poll after win
Oregon running back Jeremiah Johnson dances into the end zone for a touchdown during the second half of a game against Washington in Eugene, Ore., Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008. By Associated PressEUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The Oregon Ducks soared into the Top 20 in this week's Associated Press college football poll. Voters pushed Oregon from 21 to 18 after the Ducks thrashed the Washington Huskies on Saturday. Top-ranked USC and 15th-ranked Arizona State are the only Pacific-10 Conference schools ranked higher than the Ducks. The Ducks will be heavily favored to make it two in a row when they host Utah State this weekend. The Oregon defense played well against Washington, and that doesn't bode well for an Aggies team that lost its season opener at UNLV. Utah State has lost 19 straight against ranked teams since upsetting No. 25 Fresno State in 1991. |
