FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) _ Lance Kriesien threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns while freshman Deonte Williams rushed for 138 yards and two scores as Northern Arizona won its fifth consecutive game by beating Portland State 37-17 Saturday night.

The Lumberjacks (5-1, 3-0 Big Sky) recorded 10 sacks and held Portland State (2-4, 1-2) to minus 14 yards rushing.

NAU also got a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown by linebacker Scott McKeever and three field goals from Robbie Dehaze to keep Portland State winless in four road games this season.

Vikings quarterback Drew Hubel, who threw for a school-record 623 yards against Eastern Washington last week, was 7-of-22 for 111 yards with two interceptions before being replaced by Tygue Howland.

Howland completed 15 of 27 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown.

Dehaze's 26-yard field goal and McKeever's TD return off gave NAU a 10-0 lead in the first quarter.

Williams' 4-yard scoring run, Dehaze's 24-yard field goal and Kriesien's 38-yard TD pass to Ryan Raushert in the second quarter put the Lumberjacks up 27-10 by halftime.

Howland tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Mario D'Ambrosio early in the third quarter to close Portland State's deficit to 27-17.

But Williams' 2-yard scoring run late in the third quarter and Dehaze's 36-yard field goal with 9:11 to play sealed the win for the Lumberjacks.

Kriesien completed 13 of 22 passes with Curt Sweeney catching six passes for 130 yards.

Howland was 15-of-27 with D'Ambrosio catching 10 passes for 162 yards.

The Vikings' other points came on Bobby McClintock's 1-yard TD plunge and Danny Urrego's 49-yard field goal.
