Dee Brown hit a pair of two-run doubles while Chin-Iung Hu and Blake DeWitt combined to go 6-for-10 with three triples, four RBIs and four runs to lead the Albuquerque Isotopes past the Portland Beavers 12-7 at Isotopes Park Thursday night.

Hu, DeWitt and Jason Repko each tallied three hits on the night and starting pitcher Eric Stults chipped in with a two-run double for Albuquerque (62-51).

Chad Huffman had four RBIs, including a three-run homer in the ninth, and Craig Stansberry and Mike Baxter both had three hits for the Beavers (49-64), who snapped a three-game win streak. Nick Hundley went 2-for-3 with a double on rehab from the Padres.

Hyang-Nam Choi (7-1) gave up two runs over three innings in relief of Stults to earn the win.

Josh Banks (6-4) set a season high by allowing 11 hits and tied a season high with seven runs.

The Isotopes put up four first-inning runs to take control of the game early. Hu started things with his first triple and DeWitt and Brett Harper followed with singles. Brown knocked in DeWitt and Harper with a one-out double and then came around on Repko’s single.

Hundley and Baxter hit back-to-back doubles in the second inning to get the Beavers on the board.

Stults dealt Banks another blow, knocking in two runs in the third on a two-out double to left.

In the sixth, Valentino Pascucci victimized his former team with his second solo homer against them in as many nights. Hundley followed with a single and pinch runner Michael Collins came around to score on a single by Russ Adams.

DeWitt’s RBI triple in the sixth scored Hu.

A pair of doubles by Stansberry and Huffman in the seventh brought Portland back to within three, at 7-4.

But the Isotopes added five necessary insurance runs in the eighth. Hu’s second triple knocked in a pair and Brown added his second double of the night to drive in two more runs while Mitch Jones scored on an error by the left fielder Huffman to cap the Isotopes’ five-run frame.

The Beavers rallied for three in the ninth as Huffman corked a three-run homer to left off Brent Leach.

Stults went just three innings, allowing a run on two hits and two walks while fanning three.

The Beavers and Isotopes continue their series on Friday with first pitch from Albuquerque at 6:05 p.m. (Pacific).

NOTES: Isotopes catcher A.J. Ellis walked three times, including twice intentionally … the Beavers and Isotopes have split all three prior meetings in Albuquerque over the seven years since the Isotopes returned to the PCL in 2003 … former Beaver J.D. Closser went 1-for-2 in the game … the teams combined to hit .407 (11-for-27) with runners in scoring position.
