Lyle Moevao’s college career is over.

Oregon State’s former starting quarterback will have surgery on his right foot Thursday after a freak football accident Tuesday.

Moevao tore ligaments in his right foot when a teammate fell on him during practice.

It ends a frustrating senior season. Moevao had rotator cuff surgery in March and recovered so slowly that he lost his starting spot to Sean Canfield.

The Beavers plan to appeal for a medical hardship to try and buy him one more season of eligibility, but it’s a long shot because Moevao already sat out a redshirt year.

With Moevao done, redshirt freshman Ryan Katz becomes the Beavers second-string quarterback.
