Joel Przybilla re-injures knee in shower mishap

PORTLAND, Ore. – The run of bad luck at the center position for the Portland Trail Blazers continues.

In what seems like a curse on the team, news came down Sunday that Joel Przybilla re-injured his knee when he fell in the shower at his home in Wisconsin.

Doctors said Przybilla re-tore the same ligament that he had surgically repaired after landing wrong while playing in a game on December 22.

There was no immediate word on when Przybilla will go back into surgery to repair the new injury or how long it will now take him to recover.

Portland’s starting center Greg Oden is also rehabilitating a knee injury. NBA veteran Marcus Camby recently joined the team to help shore up the center position.

Portland has been plagued with injuries this season but continue to stay well above the .500 mark with a 37-28 record.
