AP poll: Ducks still No. 2, Beavers drop to No. 13
NEW YORK (AP) — No. 3 Kansas State and No. 4 Notre Dame each moved up a spot in The Associated Press college football poll, setting up a final four of sorts for the last month of the regular season.
Alabama is No. 1 for the ninth straight week and it is unanimous. The Crimson Tide received all 60 first-place votes. Oregon is No. 2 for the sixth straight week.
Florida's 17-9 loss on Saturday to Georgia dropped the Gators five spots to No. 8 and allowed Kansas State and Notre Dame each to move up a spot after victories.
Now the top four are all undefeated and none will play any other the rest of the way.
LSU is No. 5, followed by Ohio State and Georgia, which moved up five spots.
Oregon State dropped to No. 13 after the Beavers lost their first game of the season.
Finally, shoulders that look like we are packing 50 caliber machine gun belts rather than feather dusters. And about time, especially when OSU comes out looking like Darth Vader. Sheesh.
Probably ranked where we ought to be. We play in a fairly weak conference so wins are not as significant as in the SEC or by Notre Dame. Oregon will not be ranked #2 in the BCS at the end of the season as long as Kansas State and Notre Dame win out because their strength of schedule is simply not that high. And with USC loosing, this only makes it worse.Â

According to pendants, Notre Dame's schedule looks far weaker than Oregon's and the SEC has never really been tested against the Pac xx(8,10,12). Other than the rare bowl game (which the SEC has won regularly), there is little to actually compare the two conferences.
Â
Combine that with the fact that until this last few years, most coaches would go to bed before Pac 10 games even began. So they would see limited highlight reels from sports outlets (who focused on the local SEC) and stats. They systematically rated Pac 10 lower, simply out of ignorance. That has tainted the computer and now that DVRs exists and the PAC 12 is on the map, their views have come around. It's the computer that's stuck in history.
Â
I suggest that the dominance of the SEC will end when the playoff system is implemented.

Can't get to the plus 1 format fast enough.
