Washed out OSU fans invited to attend PSU game - for free

PORTLAND, Ore. - With OSU's home game against Nicholls State washed out due to Hurricane Isaac, Portland State University is offering Beaver fans a football fix close to home - for free.

A post on the PSU website Thursday offers OSU ticket holders a free game general-admission ticket to the Vikings contest with Carroll College on Saturday at Jeld-Wen Field.

The Nicholls State campus in Thibodaux, La., is closed because of Isaac, and classes Friday have already been canceled. The team was scheduled to take a charter flight to Oregon on Friday morning.

Kickoff for Vikings game is at 5:07 p.m. Reserve seats will be available for sale according to the site, but no prices were specified.

Oregon State officials said Wednesday night that the game with Nicholls State will be rescheduled but did not give a new date.

The Beavers will now open the season at home Sept. 8 against the No. 12 Wisconsin Badgers.
