Kelly says Ducks "cooperated fully" with probe

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon football coach Chip Kelly said the Ducks have cooperated with the NCAA investigation into the school's use of recruiting services, and he isn't particularly surprised that the process has taken so long.
"They (the NCAA) have a process and a review that they go through and until they make their findings public, we can't really comment on it. But we've cooperated fully," he said.
He also said no potential recruits have mentioned the probe.
Kelly spoke after practice Thursday, addressing an Yahoo Sports report the day before that Oregon is likely headed toward a hearing with the NCAA committee on possible infractions because the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on appropriate sanctions. Yahoo cited two unidentified sources.
The inquiry is the result of reports that surfaced last year concerning payments Oregon made to recruiting services, including a $25,000 payment to Willie Lyles and Houston-based Complete Scouting Services in 2010. Lyles had a relationship with a player who committed to Oregon.
"I haven't spoken with them in over a year now. All these processes seem like they take a long time, but I'm not surprised by any stretch of the imagination," Kelly said.
Earlier this year, Oregon requested a summary disposition in the case. The school presented a report to the infractions committee outlining violations the school believed occurred and appropriate sanctions. But that request was apparently turned down.
"The integrity of the process and our continued full cooperation with the NCAA prohibits us from publicly discussing the specifics of this matter," Oregon said in a statement Wednesday night.
The NCAA doesn't comment on investigations.
The Ducks are preparing to play Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 3 in Glendale, Ariz.
Uh, the process takes so long because U of O hired the pre-eminent fixers (attorneys) who were unable to figure out a way to make Kelly's blatantly illegal recruiting practices look like an "honest" mistake. Given the information released begrudgingly by the U of O and Kelly's lack of comments on the matter, it is clear Kelly cannot lie his way out of his unethical practices. Everyone with an open mind and reasonable deductive powers knows Kelly runs a dirty program. Kelly's real motto is not "Win the Day," it is "Win Anyway You Can." Kelly got caught with his pants down and the U of O will get spanked pretty hard for it. Loss of bowl eligibility and scholarships will be the least of it.

Memo to Kelly:Â Just because one puts a W in the column does not make one a winner.Â
Ah, cry me a fricken river.....everyone hates a winner. We shall see how the witch hunt unfolds. When a team is good for a certain amount of time...the NCAA will start to pry and find out why are they so good? Maybe because we have really good players?? This "infraction" is minor if you look into the whole story behind this....NCAA allows teams to pay for recruiters..the only thing wrong with what had happened was one of the recruits had a relationship with Lyles (and this former recruit does not even play for the Ducks)...Do you really think Chip knew anything about that? Not likely..so, your "dirty program" comment is lame at best.
@PD1202 Let's just see where the chips fall. U of O hired the best fixers in the business and they couldn't fix it so chances are good they will lose scholarships and bowl eligibility. It's a new game after the Penn State debacle and the NCAA needs to take a stand against the prevailing football culture of "anything to win." The real problem is not that Lyles was paid or that Lyles had some sort of relationship with Seastrunk (a total washout). The problem was that Lyles was paid an exorbitant amount relative to what other teams paid him and he did not probide any tangible service for the money. Wake up PD 1202. Blind loyalty is clouding your vision.
@I812 You sound like a bitter and jealous Beaver fan.....
@scoreboard No, I am a fan of neither. What I am a fan of is honesty and integrity, two character traits missing from most college and pro programs.
Aw c'mon, they're not THAT good
Well....The Ducks are 45 - 7 under Kelly...so, that is pretty good.
