While he seems like a great kid, I thought the whole idea behind picking a college or university to attend was to first get accepted on academic achievement, not sports prowess. Perhaps I don't understand this system anymore, but school athletics should be just that, with "school" coming first, with participation in what has become "semi-professional football" secondary to getting an education.
@jpk He's actually a really bright kid. The only reason why he did as well as he did was because the linemen worked the plays so he could have the holes to get through. Not enough emphasis has been placed on them, but they were the ones that mostly made it possible for him to be where he's at. He does have a natural ability, so next year's football season will be exciting to watch.
OK, washcomom. But I still believe that students should have a choice as to what school they go to, to getan education, not just to please those of us who like UO. Go Ducks!
@jpk One thing he said in the interview is that he really "connected with Chip Kelly". Now that Chip is gone, I wonder if he will connect well with the new head coach?Â
@jpk I can't wait to see him quacking up! Yellow feet will look good on him, no? Maybe they'll put duck wings on the turf shoes and/or cleats (Hello Nike??) to REALLY make the statement. =)
I listened to the radio interview he did with John Canzano. This is kid, for only being 18, is very well spoken, very mature and very humble. This kid is going to go far if he doesn't let his success go to his head. He's going to be a class act and a great role model.

@jpk I just hope it's not Elmer Fudd.
