PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson was nailed by Major League Soccer with a $25,000 fine for confronting the officials during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with the D.C. United.
A KATU photographer was near Paulson during the confrontation. Our microphones didn’t pick up exactly what he said, although you can clearly see him screaming at the referee.
Paulson, like the booing Timbers fans in the stands, was upset with how the game was called. The ref called a phantom hand ball that lead to United’s only goal of the game.

Sadly, Paulson won't pay that fine; the club will.

Paulson is horrified that his production of "Springtime for Hitler" is playing so well and earning the displeasure of his father who taught him the lesson: "in and out quick".
