Undefeated Beavers move up to No. 10 in AP poll; Ducks hold No. 2

NEW YORK (AP) — South Carolina, Florida and West Virginia move into the top five of The Associated Press college football poll after a Saturday during which nine Top 25 teams lost.
No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Oregon hold their spots at the top of the rankings. Alabama is a unanimous No. 1 again. The rest of Top 25 got a makeover.
No. 3 South Carolina, off a 35-7 victory against Georgia, moves up three spots. No. 4 Florida jumps six after beating LSU 14-6. No. 5 West Virginia moves up three with a 48-45 victory at Texas.
No. 6 Kansas State, No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 8 Ohio State also move up. LSU drops to No. 9 and unbeaten Oregon State is No. 10.
The last time nine ranked teams lost in the same week was the weekend of Oct. 18, 2008.
Okay, I'm a Beaver fan (the name refers to OSU times 2, as in Ohio State AND Oregon State), but the Beavers are vastly overrated at #10. The wins against Wisconsin & Arizona weren't as big of deal as some thought, as both aren't that great, so the only quality win was UCLA. Frankly, the lacadasical performance against a pretty abysmal Wazzou was less than encouraging. Don't be surprised at all if they lose to a pretty average BYU this weekend, and perhaps at least 3-4 of the next six. I would be shocked if they're rated above #20 at season's end. If they want to keep their high ranking, they must perform far better than they have, cause at some point, teams like Washington, Oregon, Cal, etc. are going to bring them back to earth.
@OSUx2 I was OK with you until you said Ohio State. Good objective analysis regardless.

Respectfully, you still suck for being a Buckeye fan.
I hope this doesn't go to their head. They play better as the unappreciated, considerably less expensive, underdogs in the shadow of the vaunted Oregon Ducks.Â
@peckishpete Oregon used to be that way as well. They FINALLY seem to be able to handle the hype they get.
The Beavs got some well deserved recognition. Proud to be an Oregonian this year.

Beavers are good but not worthy of top 10....at least not yet. IF they beat BYU next week, well maybe. BYU is alot better than people think.
@shek069 well they did lose to southern utah plus the average age of the team is like 28.
