PORTLAND, Ore. – Follow KATU's Katy Brown, Steve Dunn and Anna Song as they make their way from Portland to Pasadena, Calif. The news van left Portland Monday morning.

The KATU team will be bringing you live reports from Pasadena, the home of the Rose Bowl, starting Tuesday on KATU News. On Jan. 1, the University of Oregon Ducks will be taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes for the Rose Bowl championship.

Well, we rolled into the hotel at 2:50 a.m. Unfortunately we can't check in until 5 a.m. so we had to wait it out for two hours before we could get into a nice comfortable bed after driving 17 hours. So close, yet so far away.

It's raining today in Pasadena. It's raining in Pasadena! On Wednesday, production crews put the finishing touches on the broadcast booths that television networks use to broadcast the Rose Bowl Parade.
