Highlights from the Oregon High School Golf Championships

PORTLAND, Ore. - Repeat champions ruled at the Oregon High School Golf Championships.

In the Girls 6A tournament in Woodburn, Saint Mary's cruised to a 24-shot win to claim its second straight championship.

The individual showdown was much closer. Lincoln High School's Avery Sills shot the low round of the day, a one over par 73, to overtake Lake Oswego's Amy Beth Simanton. Sills won the title for the second year in a row after holding Simanton off down the stretch to win by two.

The Boys 6A tournament in Corvallis went down to the very end. Jesuit's Jeff Petroff birdied four of his final five holes to win the crown by four shots. He finished seven under par for the tournament.

Petroff's late charge also helped Jesuit repeat as state champion. The Crusaders won the team title by five strokes.
