PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) _ John Ngigi of Glide defeated more than 9,200 runners to win Sunday's Portland Marathon.

The former NAIA champion distance runner rallied to win in 2 hours 31 minutes and 22 seconds. Kami Semick of Bend won the women's division in 2:45:24. Semick won the 2004 Seattle Marathon but is better known for running ultramarathons.

The race drew runners from 47 states and 15 countries. Police say no citations were issued despite large crowds and rainy conditions.

You can head to the Portland Marathon Web site and see race results for your family and friends. An interactive program allows you to compare their times to the times of all other racers, other people of the same gender and other people in their age group division. You can also see their splits and how fast they ran in mph.
