No Fiesta: Two Ducks to miss bowl game

University of Oregon senior offensive lineman Nick Cody and junior defensive lineman Axel McQuaw will not accompany the Ducks to the Fiesta Bowl after failing to meet the minimum NCAA academic requirements necessary to participate in the post season, according to head coach Chip Kelly.
Cody, a fourth-year letterman from Brush Prairie, Wash., accumulated 18 starting assignments at right guard and tackle over the past four years, including the first six games of the 2012 season.
McQuaw, a non-scholarship player from Waldport, had been with the Ducks the last three seasons. He did not play in any games this year after making three appearances in a reserve role in 2011.
Oregon reconvenes in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Wednesday, Dec. 26, to resume preparations for the 42nd annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 3
My first thought when I read the headline was Wow, they must be crappy players for chip to actually be disciplining  them
Â
Yep, my first impression was correct........  18 starts in four years for  cody and  the  other player did not even get any playing time this year
Â
Sadly, these are the players that  need decent grades the most as  their football careers won't be supporting them.Â
Â
WHO CARES.
@RandyH Anyone will to comment certainly cares.
What? Chip Kelly all of a sudden wants to comply with NCAA rules? Shocking!
Â
As for these two ... what a waste of university resources. How hard can it be when they have personal tutors and nursemaids to get them to class? Guess what boys? The party's over, time to grow up.Â
