OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Gov. Chris Gregoire says there won't be any legislative action on a proposal to renovate KeyArena and potentially save professional basketball in Seattle.

Gregoire says there are just not enough votes in the House or the Senate to push the proposal through before the Legislature adjourns Thursday night. She said no one has asked for a special session either.

Gregoire says that doesn't mean legislators aren't interested in the proposal - which four prominent Seattle businessmen pitched, contingent on their ability to purchase a team. Their proposal calls for $150 million in private money, $75 million from the city of Seattle and $75 million from the state.

The businessmen have given an April 10 deadline to have the plan in place, ahead of the NBA Board of Governors meeting. At that meeting, the league will review Sonics owner Clay Bennett's application to move the team to Oklahoma City.
