PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers are one step closer to moving to Beaverton Saturday morning.

Owner Merrit Paulson and the city council say they have reached a preliminary deal to pay for a new Triple-A baseball stadium. However, the plan does not include a ballpark location.

There will be a special meeting Tuesday to focus on possible sites. Details on how much it will cost or how much money taxpayers might contribute were not released.

Members of Beaverton's city council said the council will not vote on the deal until Oct. 19 at the earliest.
