Winterhawks pour it on in the third to beat Americans, 4-1

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Winterhawks scored three times in the third period to skate past the Tri-City Americans, 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Adam Rossignol's goal 4:14 into the third period stood as the winner for Portland (5-3-1).

Presten Kopeck and Oliver Bjorkstrand — into an empty net — also scored in the third, while Brendan Leipsic had a goal in the first period.

Brendan Burke made 29 saves in the win.

Eric Comrie stopped 44 of 47 shots for the Americans (4-7-1). Philip Tot had the only goal for the Americans.
