Beavers take down Cougars

Oregon State's Beavers football team has taken down what has proved to be their weaker rival, the Washington State Cougars. This could pit the Beavers against the Ducks for the biggest "Civil War" prize yet: the Rose Bowl.

Monta Ellis scored a season-high 34 points and had eight assists, Anthony Morrow added 23 points, and the Golden State Warriors beat the Portland Trail Blazers 108-94 on Friday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

Jerry Glanville resigns coaching job at PSU after three losing seasons

Glanville has gone 9-24 in three seasons with the Vikings. This past season, Portland State went 2-9 overall and 1-7 in the Big Sky Conference. PSU President Wim Wiewel said Glanville "has been a great contributor to the PSU community." The school hopes to have a new coach in place by early December.



Johnson, Hawks beat Blazers 99-95 in OT

Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks feel they can beat anyone right now, even the NBA's top teams. Johnson scored eight of his 35 points in overtime and the Hawks solved Portland's defense in time to beat the Trail Blazers 99-95 on Monday night.
