TIMBERLINE LODGE, Ore. - There is no better way for the historic Timberline Lodge to celebrate its 70th anniversary than with a coat of snow that fell on Friday night.
Snowboarders and skiers took every opportunity Saturday to get in the first ride on the snow, despite the exposed grass and rocks. Meanwhile, some motorists are taking the opportunity to do "donuts" in the empty snow-covered parking lots.
Timberline's chairlifts, including Magic Mile, were not operating on Saturday.
