First ocean fish

These two silvers were caught by my wife Shari Hamlin, on her first ocean trip on our boat accross the columbia river bar on August 17th. She swore before this she would never go out on the ocean, now she's ready to go again!!! Thanks for the fish tales. Chris and Shari Hamlin, Oregon City

My wifeof 22 years swore she would never go out in the ocean on our boat. On August 17th for some strange reason, she changed her mind. Of course, she was the one to catch the first and biggest fish of the trip. Here are her two fish. One coho and one Chinook. Beautiful and bright. She has changed her thoughts about ocean fishing (on the right day of course). The crabbing was outstanding that day also. 21 keepers for the day. 140 for the weel

I see female crabs among your catch. Aren't they illegal to keep?

where did you learn to identify crabs. There's not a female in the bunch. Even our grandson can tell the difference!
