Where is Hilgard, OR? I have a really good shot of this engine entering Salem some years ago, if I can find it. I love the old steamers, and have ridden behind several of them.

My step-father was a brakeman on the Northern Pacific Railroad and when I was about 12 years old he took me to work with him one day. What a thrill...I rode in the engine and "got" to shovel coal into the boiler & even make the whistle blow.
