F-15s taking off at PDX.

This was taken several weeks ago. This aircraft, I think it is an F-15S, may be part of N.A.T.O. and was in a hurry when it took off.

Dan is correct. If it was a real "scramble" you would have seen orange flame exhaust, indicating afterburners in use. Also the tail marking indicate it is Portland Air National Guard,143FW. Airframes were built before these local pilots were born.

From the East side of the South runway. You can park near the security entrance.

Where exactly can you view them taking off from the rear view?

Now only if cars can accelerate down the on-ramp and onto the freeway that fast, not at half speed limit.

"In a hurry when it took off"??? He most likely had an ATC clearance for immediate departure due to landing traffic on short final..
