Oregon Big Beat - November 7, 2010 11:00 am - 6:00 pm at the T.A. Event Center 300 N.E. Multnomah Street, Portland, Oregon, 97232. Oregon Big Beat is a Food drive for hungry Oregon families and fundraiser for Local Area School Music Departments sponsored by Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, Five-Star Drum Shops, Oregon Food Bank, and Rhythm Traders. All ages, all skill levels, all sizes of people and drums are invited to join hundreds of other musicians to form the largest ever gathering of drummers in Oregon. This will be a hands-on fun-filled day of percussion with clinics, performances, generous product give-aways, raffles, a silent auction, drumming contests, participation in setting a world record with 15 U.S. cities, and the world premier performance of Bobby Torres’ Convergence II featuring many of Portland’s professional drummers. Participants $10.00 PLUS 2 cans of food; Families: $20.00 per family, PLUS 2 cans of food; Spectators: $5.00 per person, PLUS 2 cans of food.
