On Saturday, November 10th, 2007 from noon-10pm McMenamin’s Kennedy School will be hosting the 4th annual Rock Against Diabetes, NW. It is a benefit concert for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and Gales Creek Camp for kids with diabetes. It’s an all-ages show. $10-20 donation accepted at the door. McMenamin’s Kennedy School is located at 5736 NE 33rd in Portland.

With multiple bands there is sure to be something for everyone! Some of the bands that are generously donating their time and support are: Weight of Atlas, The Mystic Canyon Band, My Fellow Traveller, Amanda Richards, Dead Beetles, Scotland Barr & the Slow Drags, Still Pending, Joshua James, Fuzzball, The Lonesomes, Sketchy Ted, and Mission 5.

Musicians, family, friends, and supporters all appear for one reason, to support those families and kids who live with diabetes everyday. Tom and Jennifer Kilman, the organizers of the event, came up with the idea for the concert after their son Henry was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 1/2. “We wanted to do something proactive” says Henry Kilman’s mom Jennifer. So please come and join us at McMenamin’s Kennedy School on Saturday November 10th to enjoy some great music and raise money for an excellent cause.
