Longview Programs Running Dry

This sing basically says it all.
Both Housing (HUD) and Special Programs like the one mentioned in the sign are having a difficult time keeping up.

I keep hearing things on that the economy is getting better.
a person at Longivew housing said and I Quote " We Have been hard hit with people whose hours have been cut and this is the reason why we had to lower the amount we can pay out to help those on HUD"

And Now the sign that reads " Due to Substantial Decrease in Federal LIHEAP Funding at CAP, "Crisis Clients " (those with Shut Off Notices will NOT be awarded LIHEAP Funds this year.

This is starting to look more like entering into a depression.

I am sick and tired of hearing how well the economy is doing when in essences it is failing and failing fast.

Gone are the "Pretty Pictures".

Any one in an apartment building that can not afford to keep there power on could get evicted even if they have been paying there rent. If it is so caused that the debt causes a lean to be placed on the building.

Also for those that can no longer afford this "luxury", the can have there power turned off.

I for see in the future that people will be purchasing there own generators, or even possibly running gas stoves and ovens thus dying of carbon monoxide poisoning.

And it is so stated that having power is not a need but it is a "Privilege" and that privilege can be taken away.

This is definitely a "Sign of the Times"
The question must be asked "Are we going in to a Depression"?

Those with out power will cost us more in the long run . they will need medical attntion for illnesses. They will need to seek food banks because they have no power to referidgerate food. Not to mention with out power one can not wash there dishes..

either. there is a difference between entitlement and enrichment. Just as there is a difference between Helping htose in need or not. You may not think that that a few thousand people may go with out power may not effect you. But think again.

affored that persuit. Americans have the right to have a steady job and an income. to those that are Inable to work dues to illness not to thier own fault, they have the right to persue there happiness as well. We can not deprive them of that persuit

PDX Werewolf I can agree with that. Sometimes there comes a time for needed catagories. There is also other events that need to be added as well. and to "The Sage" every one is entitled to the persuit of happiness. which includes to being able to

This country just hit 9.8 percent(so says "Forbes" in unemployment. I believe that a depression is possibly coming. I hope I am wrong though. I think Christmas gifting is going to based on needs rather then wants.

There's too many people thinking they are "Owed" a life or livling. Truly there's people who have been unemployed so long, they think it'll stay afloat longer. Not true and everyone better wake up that the happy days are behind us and hope is dead.

You need a proof reader--there are so many mistakes in this article it's hard to stay focused on the topic.
