The pictures are of North Fork Road about 6 miles east of Lyons/Mehama and Highway 22 and 5 miles west of Elkhorn Golf Course. The road was closed late Friday afternoon due to a massive mudslide. This is the second time in eight days the road has been closed due to mudslides. This section of roadway is normally paved and was closed all summer in order for Marion County to repair road slides. The people living in the Elkhorn Valley must detour using Gates Hill Road. Gates Hill Road is very steep and can be treacherous in the winter time.
