PS3 Seized in Netherlands

According to media reports earlier this week, tens of thousands of the consoles had been seized in the Netherlands in line with a 10-day import ban ordered by a Dutch court.

Sony States that this will not have an impact on there PS3 sales.

The Ban comes in from a long standing battle between LG and Sony with regards to "Blue-Ray" technologies.

LG states that Sony has stolen a patent for Blue-Ray technologies.

Sony is in disagreement with LG's allegations and will file an appeal to the courts in the Netherlands.

On top of there woes, Sony stocks(SNE) have been given a two star rating as they are they are failing to effectively innovate to beat the competition .With Sony's Stocks having low dividend yield, the stock does not look too attractive as a value holding.

LG claims that Sony PS3s infringe a number of patents relating to the playback of Blu-Ray discs. It is also seeking a ban in the US and has filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

I wonder, just wonder how much it will cost Sony to subpoena all those people, unless there just doing a head count to see How much of an interests there is in hacking the PS3. I think Sony its self has become a festering Sore on the consumers foot.

Now Sony has the green light to track down everyone's ip address that visited Geohot or any other PS3 site. No doubt the Playstation brand has live out it's legacy in the Sun. Let's move on to a better company *cough* console.
